Concrete5: New add-ons and themes

Edicy: Password-protected pages

Edicy is gaining the ability to restrict page access with passwords, opening up possibilities such as intranets and private blogs. Read more.

Jimdo: Video element redesigned

Jimdo’s video element has been thoroughly revamped, and now features easy support for different video services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Veoh, and Blip. New features also include one-click maximize, video proportion selection (16:9 or 4:3), and pixel-level size adjustment. See the full post.

SiteKreator: More editor enhancements

SiteKreator is unveiling another set of improvements to its text and images ditor this week. First off, the image properties panel has been slimmed down to three core settings — Image Size, Caption and Alignment — with all other options available via an ‘Advanced’ switch. Next, images can now have alternate images displayed on rollover, accompanied by transition effects. Lastly, users now have access to a stock library of images and icons.

TypePad: Tonic theme

Another new theme, Tonic, is arriving on the TypePad platform. This one comes with ten different color combinations, five layouts, background image options, and a featured post area. Get all the details here.

Virb gets new widgets and new blog features

The blog section in Virb is getting taxonomy capabilities in the form of categories and tags, commenting via Facebook Comments and Disqus, as well as import support for WordPress and Blogger. Webstarts: E-mail marketing and HTML5 player

Webstarts users can now create and manage e-mail marketing campaigns right inside the application, with the option of automatically adding leads to mailing lists from the form builder. Another new feature is an HTML5 player for audio and video, making media playback possible on iOS devices. Read more.

Oxygen Theme for WordPress.com

WordPress.com’s theme library has two brand-new additions: Just Desserts by Andy Rutledge, “a deliciously stylish premium theme … perfect for blogs centered on food,” and Oxygen from DevPress, “a minimal yet beautifully crafted free magazine theme.” Get all the details.
